  • The Christoffersons’ love for people while traveling extends beyond just the members of the Church.

“People are wonderful. Every soul is precious.” —Elder D. Todd Christofferson

With busy schedules as they travel around the world to meet with Latter-day Saints as well as with leaders of governments and other religions and organizations, leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can find life on the road—or in the air—tiring.

Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Sister Kathy Christofferson, accompanied President Russell M. Nelson during his Southeast Asia ministry in November. They recently shared with the Church News why traveling—for them—isn’t as tiring as people often assume.

While flying around the globe can be exhausting, “there’s something about being with the members of the Church” that makes it easier somehow, Sister Christofferson explains in the video interview. “It’s just phenomenal to be in their presence. And we draw so much energy from them. . . . It’s rejuvenating. . . . It’s such a blessing.”

After hearing his wife's answer, Elder Christofferson adds an enthusiastic “Amen.”

“People are wonderful. People are all children of God,” he says, noting that the love for people while traveling extends beyond just the members of the Church.

With everyone they meet, whether heads of state or people on the street, it doesn’t matter, Elder Christofferson explains. “People are wonderful. Every soul is precious.”

In this new Church News video, Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Sister Kathy Christofferson, share why traveling—for them—isn’t as tiring as people often assume.
