Voting for International Video Contest Begins March 22

  • 15 March 2011

The visitors’ choice voting for the International Video Contest will begin on March 22, 2011.

The video contest, which began last year and ended on January 31, gave members of the Church the opportunity to share their talents and testimonies with members worldwide. Videos and material gathered from the contest could be used in future Mormon Messages and other Church video projects.

Finalists were chosen by a multimember jury, who narrowed entries down to 10 per category. The categories include Professional, Amateur from the United States or Canada, Amateur International, 13- to 17-year-old from the United States or Canada, and 13- to 17-year-old International.

Visitors can vote for their favorites in each category online. One visitors' choice winner and three winners in each category will be selected.

The theme, “Make Your Own Mormon Message,” encouraged contestants to create videos expressing subjects about a Latter-day Saint life, such as history, beliefs, values, scriptures, and so forth.

Winners will be notified by e-mail starting on April 11. Winners in each category will receive an award of $500 (US).
