Music for a Summer Evening with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Orchestra at Temple Square, and Shadow Mountain Recording Artists Event Description A special concert, Music for a Summer Evening, will feature the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Orchestra at Temple Square, and Shadow Mountain recording artists. This concert will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. in the Tabernacle on Temple Square. The concert is being presented in conjunction with meetings of the LDS Booksellers Association being held in Salt Lake City. The choir and orchestra will be performing music from recent and upcoming albums (including Mack Wilberg Requiem and Called to Serve), a preview on the big screen from the upcoming DVD of the 2007 Christmas concert with The King's Singers, and previews from the upcoming releases of a Joseph Smith tribute album and the spring 2009 release Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing. LDS recording artists from Shadow Mountain Records will perform selections from some of their recent recordings. Tickets can be obtained over the Internet or by calling 570-0080 or toll-free 1-866-537-8457 (1-866-LDS-TIKS) beginning Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. There is a limit of four tickets per person. Special Considerations Tickets are required for this event. Those with tickets should be in their seats by 7:30 p.m. Standby seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The standby line forms at the flagpole in the center of Temple Square. For this event, admission is limited to those ages eight and older. No babies, please. Wheelchair seating is available. Patrons who require such seating should inform Guest Services when they arrive at the event. Best dress is requested. Those attending this event are advised that cameras, recording devices, backpacks, food, and beverages are not allowed in the Tabernacle. Those attending the concert should plan to arrive early and should park only in designated parking areas. On the day of the concert, the doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The length of the concert is approximately 90 minutes.
