Do You Have a Story to Tell?

The Ensign welcomes submissions that show the gospel of Jesus Christ at work in your life. Although we welcome the opportunity to review all work, we are currently looking for members’ experiences with the following topics:

Acquisition Obsession

In his October 2004 general conference address, Bishop H. David Burton taught: "For some, the pursuit to acquire more of this world's goods and services has become a passion. . . . The unbridled desire for more often has tragic consequences." Have you ever felt preoccupied by the desire to acquire more wealth and possessions? What helped you find balance? Have you found that there is wisdom in moderation? Submit your story.

Faith in the Lord and Confidence in His Promises

Please tell us about the hope you have gained in receiving promises from the Lord through priesthood and patriarchal blessings, through the scriptures, and through modern prophets and apostles. How have you been blessed by trusting the Lord and hoping in His promises? How have you seen His promises come to pass in your life? Even if what you have been promised has not yet come to fruition, how have you been blessed for maintaining faith and hope? Submit your story.

Plan of Salvation

As a member of the Church, how do you let your knowledge of the Plan of Salvation influence your everyday life in a concrete way? How does it affect the way you interact with people? The decisions you make? Your attitudes? Please send us your experiences—the more specific, the better. If you are a convert, how did it affect you when you were taught about the Plan of Salvation? What questions, doubts, or dilemmas did it resolve for you? Submit your story.

This list highlights only some of the current needs of the magazine. We also welcome submissions on other topics. For general information, please see the Ensign writers’ guidelines. Word count on all submissions should be between 500 and 2,000 words.

Please send your submissions to ensign@ldschurch.org or Ensign Editorial, 50 E. North Temple Street, Room 2420, Salt Lake City, UT 84150-3220, USA. Include your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, ward (or branch), and stake (or district). Due to the volume of submissions, we cannot acknowledge receipt. Authors whose work is selected for publication will be notified. If you would like your material returned, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
