Implementing the Faith in God Guidebooks 2 April 2003 Distribution of Materials One copy of the following materials should be distributed as indicated. • Faith in God for Boys guidebook (36812) All boys ages 8 through 11 and their leaders. • Faith in God for Girls guidebook (36813) All girls ages 8 through 11 and their leaders. Information for Parents and Leaders An explanation of the revised program is found in the Faith in God guidebooks on pages 17–19. Parents and leaders should review these instructions before implementing the new guidebooks. This information is available on www.lds.org under Home and Family. Transferring to the New Materials Boys and girls ages 8 through 11 should begin using the new program on July 1, 2003. However, those who will complete the requirements for the Gospel in Action award or the Cub Scout Faith in God religious award before December 31, 2003, may continue to work in those programs and receive the related awards. Children should transfer any completed requirements from the previous program to their new guidebook and then complete additional requirements as outlined in the Faith in God guidebooks. Awards and Recognition Pendants, lapel pins, and emblems previously awarded are replaced with the Faith in God Award certificate on the last page of the guidebooks. Boys completing the Cub Scout religious requirements will be awarded the Scouting Religious Square Knot patch. More information on recognition is found on page 19 of the Faith in God guidebooks. Activity Days Activity days replace achievement days. Activity days are designed to provide children ages 8 through 11 with opportunities to work on activities in the Faith in God program. Instructions about activity days are found on page 18 in Faith in God for Boys and pages 17–18 in Faith in God for Girls.
