Hi, my name is Emmy. And I’m Mindy, and we’re at the FSY in Dubai.
We only met, like, yesterday was it?
And we’ve already become, like, almost best friends. Yay!
Hi, my name is Emmy. And I’m Mindy, and we’re at the FSY in Dubai.
We only met two days ago, but we are already best friends. It’s really bonding to sit for hours on a hard seat with...
FSY Dubai!
FSY Dubai!
People love you all around the world.
And some of them wanted to join us today to have a discussion with you
for the first FSY in the region.
And I don't think they need much introduction.
This is Elder Bednar and our our Area Presidency.
I bring to you the love, the blessings, and the greetings of President Nelson,
President Oaks, and President Eyring, and all my associates in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. We love you, and we pray for you.
The only thing that would make this better is if the members of the Area Presidency could be there in person with you.
My name is Zachary Pearce.
I'm from the United States, but I live in Amman, Jordan.
And before I came to FSY, I really hoped to meet new people and make new friends, and find some positive people to share the gospel with and feel the Spirit. And that’s exactly what I felt here at FSY.
I really got to know my company, and everybody here really well.
Everybody is so kind and loving, and I had a really great time here.
It was a ton of fun.
My name is Isaac Jackman. I'm from the US and I live in Amman, Jordan.
I hope to get a very spiritual experience from FSY.
I hope to get closer to my Heavenly Father. And I think after all the time that we spent here, all the lessons we learned, I think that I received that. I learned how to study the scriptures better and how to pray better with Heavenly Father.
I also learned how to be more reverent during talks and stuff like that. So I think FSY overall has been a very good experience for me.
So like I hope to get like a little like more faith and just a better testimony because I've kind of been relying on others’ testimonies previously. And yeah, I think I got that. And just like some friendship, like I met some new people. Yeah, that's what I expected and that's what I got. So my name is Caleb Jackman.
I come from the Amman, Jordan, branch, and I’m from the United States.
Me coming to FSY, it was my birthday during FSY,
so I was a little bit skeptical coming in. I was like, Oh, do I really want to spend FSY with a bunch of people that I don't know, but I'm really glad I was able to come because I met
a great group of people in my company and just the whole family around the camaraderie that we were able to create with us and with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, you know, all, everything put together. It was just a great experience. And if you ever are on the, you know, on the fence of coming to any activity like an FSY or an EFY, I assure you, it’ll be worth your time.
Okay, So hi, my name is Abby.
Abby Pierce, and I’m living in Amman, Jordan, right now. And I’m from the US.
What I hope to get out of FSY is a bunch of new cool friendships,
and also to, to grow my testimony and I got both of those, and I'm really glad that I could come because it was really fun and a new experience for me and it was really nice. So yeah.
Hi, my name is Jean Dorak. I’m 16 years old and I came to FSY to see people and have more Christian friends that are in the same Church.
And I really like—I had no hope that I would, like, get more like faith. But when I came here, it like, changed me. And I had, like, so much faith. And I think when I go back home, I will start reading the gospel again.
And just like, share it with other people that I know. That's it. Thank you.
Hello, my name is Irina. I’m from Iraq. I’m 17 years old. I came to FSY
to strengthen my faith, and I feel like the person I was four days ago has changed and I can't recognize me now.
I have a stronger relationship with my Heavenly Father now. And I made a lot of friends.
My name is Andres and I'm from Jubail Branch.
What I hoped to get out of FSY was to figure out how to be ready to be a missionary, and for most of my life I was worried about that. And I found that if I take home what I've learned here,
like reading scriptures, journaling, or things like that,
and I make sure I can get to missionary work, then I'll be able to enjoy it. And I hope I won't be able to want to come back.
Hi, my name is Bryce. I'm from the Philippines, but I live in Oman and I was hoping to get closer to God here in FSY, and I feel like I really did get closer to God.
My name is Trevin. I am from Utah, but I live in Oman. During FSY,
I was hoping to strengthen my testimony and be closer to God, and I definitely think that I improved and grew and strengthened my testimony a lot.
My name is Faith. I’m currently living in Israel and I wanted to come to FSY
because everyone I know who is going to FSY has come back a completely changed person and I wanted that for myself and I feel like I really gained that as well from coming here and being around all of these cool people and sharing our testimonies with each other and just growing as youth.
My name is Kate Weisman and I live in Israel. I came to FSY because
my parents made me. No, just kidding. But I came to FSY because I really wanted to come. Because I wanted to—wait. Okay. I came to FSY
because I thought that it would be a really fun experience. And it really was. And I really felt the Spirit here.
And yeah, I'm glad I came. My name is Connor Belnap. I'm from Tel Aviv, Israel.
I came to FSY to just get the experience of being able to feel the Spirit and learn more about the gospel of the Lord.
I got a lot out of it, honestly. There's too much.
It’s not even able to be listed. So much feelings and experiences that I've never expected to get.
Hi, I'm Sarah Lewis. I live in Israel right now.
I came to FSY because I heard that it was going on and I was like, that sounds pretty cool. I learned a lot about receiving personal revelation in my own life, and I also was able to feel the Spirit so much throughout all of FSY.
It was just a great experience.
I'm David Vellinga. I'm from Dubai. And I was hoping when I came to FSY I’d be able to connect with more of the youth my age and that was accomplished tenfold. It was super exciting to meet new youth as well as get to know more of my Savior as a friend and connect with Him as well. So I'm Angel Vargas. I'm from the Philippines, but I live in Riyadh. I’m from the Riyadh First Ward.
What I hope to get out of FSY was that I would have a stronger testimony and have—learning lessons from other people, from other people’s testimonies, and build my strength and faith with God. And what I got out from FSY is all of those things and even many more that I didn’t expect to experience. So I was able to see other people’s examples that inspired me. I was able to strengthen my knowledge in the gospel and my faith in the Lord as well. My name is Sandy Dias. I’m from the Dubai Ward—no Sharjah Ward and when I came here, I was hoping to get a testimony, but I came here.
I did really get a testimony. Everyone strengthens me. All the leaders were really fun.
My name is Noam Elem. I’m from Israel. I’m 16. And
before I came, like, I was like, I don’t know, kind of depressed, I can say. Didn’t really have the energy like to fly or or to go to FSY
you know? But I completely changed. I feel peaceful. I feel happy.
I learned a lot of things.
I’m gonna use it in my daily routine, I think. And I had such a good time, met a lot of good people. Everyone is so positive in here and
respectful and just love doing fun stuff. And everyone is so friendly and happy and this is such a good environment to be in. And I think that I will never forget this.
And I want to—just everyone gave me so much inspiration with their testimonies, you know. And I feel like even though it's the end right now, but like it's the beginning for each of everyone who attended in the AFC to like, start something fresh and new to from everything that we learned, like to build a foundation of faith and go from there, you know? Yeah.
