This tour includes:
- A briefing by an expert about the founding of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the beliefs that make this Christian religion distinctive, and insights into how its members live.
- The dramatic 53-minute film Legacy, which shows why Salt Lake City was established as a place of freedom for religious refugees.
- A view of the Salt Lake Valley from the spot where pioneer travelers first saw it as a barren wilderness a little more than 150 years ago.
- A walking tour of Temple Square, including the Salt Lake Tabernacle, home of the Tabernacle Choir; the North and South Visitors' Centers; and the Museum of Church History and Art.
- A visit to Old Deseret Village. Deseret was the name pioneers first gave the territory that includes present-day Utah. Less than 15 minutes from downtown, the village recreates scenes from those early days, as pioneer craftsmen and townsfolk work in period dress, performing tasks now largely forgotten. The village is close to a monument that celebrates Brigham Young's declaration after journeying 1,100 miles across the American Plains, "This is the right place."
