	FEATURES Young Men's General Presidency On April 4, 2009, The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the reorganization of the Young Men general presidency. Brother David L. Beck was sustained as the Young Men general president, Larry M. Gibson as first counselor, and Adrián Ochoa as second counselor. 2009 Lesson Resources The Aaronic Priesthood Resource Guide has been revised for 2009, and new features have been added to assist leaders in strengthening young men through their Sunday lessons. This 12-page guide has been sent to leaders through the curriculum ordering process and is available online. 2009 Mutual Theme A notice dated July 1, 2008, announced the Mutual theme for 2009: "Be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity" (1 Timothy 4:12). As they use this theme in instruction and activities, Young Men and Young Women leaders are encouraged to focus on faith in Jesus Christ and the standards in For the Strength of Youth. Aaronic Priesthood and Scouting Satellite Broadcast for Adult Leaders An Aaronic Priesthood and Scouting training meeting was broadcast over the Church satellite system on May 12, 2007. The proceedings of that meeting are available in multiple formats for the benefit of bishops, Young Men presidencies, Scouting leaders, and others with responsibility for the young men of the Church. Training Aaronic Priesthood Quorum Presidencies to Preside Are you an adult leader with responsibility for young men? Visit the spring 2007 Young Men open house workshop pages for video segments and other information that can help you teach your young Aaronic Priesthood quorum presidency members how to preside over their quorums in the way the scriptures instruct. Worthy Music, Worthy Thoughts The Worthy Music, Worthy Thoughts page, just launched on the Church music site, can help youth understand that worthy music will help them avoid temptation, invite uplifting thoughts, and receive the Spirit. The page contains links to a President Packer conference address, questions to consider, testimonials from other youth, selected music, and links to other resources. Safety Guidelines for Activities The First Presidency has counseled parents, teachers, and leaders of youth to care for and protect the youth of the Church. Guidelines are available to help you wisely plan and safely carry out Aaronic Priesthood, Mutual, Scouting, and other activities.
