The stake presidency or an assigned high councilor may call a stake Primary music leader if needed. She serves under the direction of the stake Primary presidency.

The stake Primary music leader gives music instruction to ward Primary presidencies, music leaders, and pianists. This instruction may be given in stake Primary leadership meetings and, as needed, individually.

Instruction should focus on the principles outlined under "Music in Primary." It should include demonstrating effective ways to teach the gospel to children through music (see the Children's Songbook, pages 300–304, and the videocassette How to Teach a Song to Children [item no. 53005]). The annual outline for sharing time and the annual children's sacrament meeting presentation suggests songs to teach.

When requested, the music leader may organize and direct a stake children's choir.
