Young women in church

Every young woman, even if she is the only young woman in her ward or branch, should have the opportunity to participate in the Young Women program.

Leadership

  • Leadership for the Young Women organization could consist of only a Young Women president.
  • She could combine the age-groups and plan all lessons and activities.
  • Lessons could be planned from the Young Women manuals or from Gospel Principles.
  • Counselors, a secretary, advisers, and other leaders may be added when the need arises and qualified sisters become available.
  • As the number of young women increases, additional leaders may be called.

Programs

Activities

  • Young Women activities might be coordinated with ward or branch activities, family activities, and, where applicable, Church Educational System activities.
  • When possible, participation in stake or district activities could give young women in small units an opportunity to interact with a greater number of young women and young men.
