Mutual Activities

After brief opening exercises, Young Women and Young Men activities are usually held separately. Class or quorum activities usually last 30 to 75 minutes.

Activities give young women and young men opportunities to:

  • Meet with other youth who share similar beliefs and standards.
  • Feel the Spirit.
  • Have fun.
  • Strengthen their testimonies of the gospel.
  • Give service.
  • Develop talents and skills.
  • Apply gospel principles.
  • Reach out to less-active and nonmember youth.

Combined Activities

Combined Aaronic Priesthood–Young Women Mutual activities can be held occasionally. These activities could sometimes involve parents and families. The purposes of combined activities include:

  • Teaching youth to work and serve together.
  • Providing wholesome social experiences.
  • Giving youth time to prepare for cultural celebrations, youth conferences, camp, or other similar events.
