Encourage youth to prune out bad activities and graft in things that will bear good fruit (see Jacob 5:65–66, 68).
Activity
- In "Entertainment and the Media," pages 17–19 of For the Strength of Youth, identify activities or entertainment that should be pruned out.
- Brainstorm together and identify activities that could be grafted in.
"There is so much of wonderful reading available. . . . There is music to be learned and enjoyed. There is just having a good time together—in dancing, in hiking, in cycling, or in other ways—boys and girls together enjoying one another's company in a wholesome way" (Gordon B. Hinckley, "Gambling," Ensign, May 2005, 61; see also Moroni 7:15–16). |
