Gospel Doctrine teachers: The lessons in the manual contain more information than you will probably be able to teach in one class period. Seek the Spirit of the Lord in selecting the scripture accounts, questions, and other lesson materials that best meet the needs of class members.

Basic Resources

Scriptures
  • To read the lesson or to see the class member study guide section for this week, click on the pictures above.
  • You can read the assigned scriptures for this week online: Matthew 18; Luke 10.

  • The teacher's manual also includes the following scripture passages as additional reading: Mark 9:33–50; Mosiah 3:17–21; 4:16–19, 26.

  • Would you like to listen to an audio recording of the scriptures in this week's lesson? Try listening to or downloading Luke 10 (MP3 format), which is in this week's reading. For more New Testament audio, click here.

Art

Christ and the Children

The lesson manual suggests pictures from the Gospel Art Picture Kit that you can use during your lesson (see lesson manual, page 57). These pictures are available online or in your meetinghouse library. To see the pictures online, click on the picture titles in the list below.

For suggestions on using pictures in your class, read "Pictures" and "Visuals" in Teaching, No Greater Call, pages 176, 182–83.

Suggestion for Teaching

Teaching, No Greater Call The lesson for this week provides this suggestion for teaching: "Occasionally invite class members (or other ward members) to help with the lesson by giving a report, sharing a story, bearing testimony, or helping in some other way. When making assignments, be clear about what you want the person to do and how long you would like him or her to take" (lesson manual, page 57).
