Gospel Doctrine teachers: The lessons in the manual contain more information than you will probably be able to teach in one class period. Seek the Spirit of the Lord in selecting the scripture accounts, questions, and other lesson materials that best meet the needs of class members.

Basic Resources

Scriptures
  • To read the lesson or to see the class member study guide section for this week, click on the pictures above.
  • You can read the assigned scriptures for this week online: Acts 21–28.

  • Would you like to listen to an audio recording of the scriptures in this week's lesson? Try listening to or downloading Acts 21 (MP3 format), which is in this week's reading. For more New Testament audio, click here.
  • The official scripture study aids often have helpful information you can use in your lessons. For example, the lesson for this week suggests using a map showing Paul's journey to Rome, which is available in the maps section of Latter-day Saint editions of the Bible (map 13 for editions printed in 1999 or later; map 22 in printings before 1999) (see lesson manual, page 158).

Videos

Videos

The lesson manual suggests a video segment you could use as part of your lesson (see lesson manual, page 158). Click the video title below to see the listing for this video in the online Church Distribution Services catalog.

For information on using videos in your class, read "Audiovisual Materials" in Teaching, No Greater Call, page 160.

Suggestion for Teaching

Teaching, No Greater Call The lesson for this week provides this suggestion for teaching: " 'It is essential that those you teach be fed, that they be taught something. Each time they come there should be at least one thought, one idea, one inspiration that is theirs for having been in the class. It can be a little thought, an ordinary one—in fact, the more fundamental it is, the more you have accomplished' " (Boyd K. Packer, Teach Ye Diligently [1975], 154)" (lesson manual, page 158).
