Gospel Doctrine teachers: The lessons in the manual contain more information than you will probably be able to teach in one class period. Seek the Spirit of the Lord in selecting the scripture accounts, questions, and other lesson materials that best meet the needs of class members.
Basic Resources
- To read the lesson or to see the class member study guide section for this week, click on the pictures above.
- You can read the assigned scriptures for this week online: Ephesians 1–6.
- The teacher's manual also includes the following scripture passages as additional reading: John 17:11; Mosiah 18:21–22; Doctrine and Covenants 27:15–18; 38:25–27.
- Would you like to listen to an audio recording of the scriptures in this week's lesson? Try listening to or downloading Ephesians 3 (MP3 format), which is in this week's reading. For more New Testament audio, click here.
- The official scripture study aids often have helpful information you can use in your lessons. For example, the lesson for this week references the entry for "Dispensations" in the Bible Dictionary (see lesson manual, page 162).
Videos
The lesson manual suggests a video segment you could use as part of your lesson (see lesson manual, page 162). Click the video title below to see the listing for this video in the online Church Distribution Services catalog.
For information on using videos in your class, read "Audiovisual Materials" in Teaching, No Greater Call, page 160.
Suggestion for Teaching
The lesson for this week provides this suggestion for teaching: "Scripture marking helps teachers and class members note important words, ideas, people, and events. You can encourage class members to mark their scriptures by pointing out important principles, giving a cross-reference, or telling what you have written in the margin of your scriptures" (lesson manual, page 162).
