What is the Aaronic Priesthood committee meeting?
The Aaronic Priesthood committee meeting is a regularly scheduled meeting in which the bishopric meets with one of the bishop's priests quorum assistants, the presidents of the teachers and deacons quorums, and the ward Young Men presidency and secretary. (See "Gospel Teaching and Leadership," book 16 of the Church Handbook of Instructions, Book 2: Priesthood and Auxiliary Leaders [1998], 318.)
What is the purpose of this meeting?
There are four purposes of this meeting:
- Direct the work of the Aaronic Priesthood in the ward.
- Determine how to help meet the needs of the Aaronic Priesthood brethren. Determine how to help each member progress toward accomplishing the purposes of the Aaronic Priesthood.
- Plan and review quorum instructions, service opportunities, and activities.
- Discuss and plan activities, including Scouting activities where authorized. (See "Gospel Teaching and Leadership," 318.)
