The Great Plan of the Eternal God

Great plan of the Eternal God

Without a knowledge of our Heavenly Father’s plan for us, life’s difficulties can seem random and insurmountable, even to the point of draining our hope. In a classic conference address, Elder Neal A. Maxwell (1926–2004) speaks of that plan, whose truths “are crucial to how we see ourselves, others, life, the Lord, and even the universe.” By knowing of the plan and exercising faith, we can recognize mortal life as a “deliberately constructed proving and tutoring experience which features opportunities, choices, and deprivations.” And while we cannot see the end from the beginning, we can be assured that God does.

“We can . . . truly know that God loves us, individually and perfectly, even though we cannot always explain the meaning of all things.”

—Elder Neal A. Maxwell
