The Church has released photographs of the interior and exterior of the the newly renovated Memphis Tennessee Temple.

Public tours begin on Saturday, April 13, and will go through Saturday, April 20, excluding Sunday, April 14. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations made at templeopenhouse.ChurchofJesusChrist.org will receive first priority.

The temple will be rededicated on Sunday, May 5, 2019 in a single 10:00 a.m. rededication session. Attendance to the session will be by invitation.

The temple, which will open for ordinances on Tuesday, May 14, will serve Latter-day Saints in Memphis; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Tupelo, Mississippi.

The temple rests on a site of 6.35 acres with an adjoining meetinghouse. In the dedicatory prayer given by President Gordon B. Hinckley when the temple was first dedicated, he referred to that temple as “our gift of love” to bring about the work of the gospel.

“It is our gift of love. Please accept of it, dear Father, as an expression of the faith we have in Thine eternal purposes. This sacred structure stands as a monument before the world of our belief in the immortality of the human soul and that a great work is going forward on the other side of the veil to bring blessings to those who will accept the ordinances which will be performed in their behalf in this Thy house.”
