Abinadi had faith during perilous times.

And so can you.

The prophet Abinadi had a tougher missionary assignment than most of us will ever face: calling out a wicked king and his crew right to their faces.

The Lord protected Abinadi physically long enough for him to deliver his message. But Abinadi seems to have suspected he would not survive after that. And he was right.

“I finish my message,” he said, “and then it matters not whither I go, if it so be that I am (spiritually) saved” (Mosiah 13:9).

His attitude was basically: It doesn’t matter what happens as long as I’ll live with God after I die.

Can you trust God even when you don’t know what’s going to happen? Or when you know it’s going to be hard? That takes some serious faith!

Thankfully, most people will not have to give their lives for their testimony. But even if it does come to that, if you’ve kept your covenants with the Lord, “it matters not” what happens in this life. Everything will be OK in the end!

That’s a promise.

Big Picture Perspective

Have you ever gone through something really hard? What helped you get through it? This would be a great thing to ask a faithful parent or leader.
