Family Home Evening Ideas

This issue contains articles and activities that could be used for family home evening. The following are two examples.

“Seven Days Till Easter,” page 10, and “Special Witnesses Testify of the Living Christ,” page 16: You may want to use the materials in these articles to hold daily devotionals with your family the week before Easter. Beginning the Sunday before Easter, read the testimonies of the First Presidency on page 17 and follow the instructions in “Seven Days Till Easter.” Each day afterward, read the testimonies of two Apostles and use the scriptures, songs, and activity in “Seven Days Till Easter” to share a message with your family. On Easter Sunday, you could watch the Bible video “He Is Risen” found at lds.org/bible-videos (available in several languages).

“That’s So Easy, Grandpa!” page 67: After reading this article, you may want to pull out your stopwatch too! Consider reading a page from the Book of Mormon as a family and timing yourselves to see how long it takes. Using that time as a guide, estimate how long it would take your family to read the Book of Mormon. You might want to set a goal to read the Book of Mormon together. Creating a schedule, such as reading at a set time each day, can help you achieve your goal.
