“It’s refreshing to my faith to see the faith of the members, to hear experiences and stories,” Elder D. Todd Christofferson said of his visit to Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Panama in January of 2013.

In part 1 of a three-part series of videos about his trip, Elder Christofferson describes how the Book of Mormon has particular relevance to members in Central America.

While some members there face difficult lives, they are strengthened by the peace they feel from the Spirit of the Lord. “They don’t feel abandoned by the Lord in times of hardship, but rather borne up and sustained,” he said.

“It impresses me more and more everywhere I go that everyone is known to Him and that He is our Father, that He is real, that His love is infinite and can reach at the same time to all of His children,” he said.
