“Treat Everyone with Love” is just one song from the 2016 Mutual theme album!
The 2016 Mutual theme album is a collection of songs written by Latter-day Saint youth about staying true to our beliefs in today’s ever-changing world.
What would your school be like if you treated everyone how you wanted to be treated? What would the world be like?
That’s the question Lillian Hepler asks in her song, “Treat Everyone with Love.”
“God loves us all equally because we are all His children. I think it is important to know that it doesn’t matter what other people think. All that matters is what God thinks. And He would want us to treat each other with love.”
“The message of my song is that we should love everyone, no matter what they look like or the choices they make,” Lillian says. “God loves us all equally because we are all His children. (Check out “He Knows Who I Am.”) I think it is important to know that it doesn’t matter what other people think. All that matters is what God thinks. And He would want us to treat each other with love.”
Lillian believes that oftentimes there are two kinds of people: “There are those who try to put others down just to make themselves look good, and then there are those who build others up because that’s the right thing to do. What’s funny is that everyone would rather be friends with the people who make them feel good and build them up than the ones who tear them down.” (Check out “10 Secrets of True Popularity.”)
Which kind will you be?
“A lot of times we get our priorities mixed up. But we need to remember that the most important thing to do is to follow Christ’s example and love those around us. If we do, I think life will be so much more fulfilling.”
