Built on an eastern bench overlooking Cache Valley in northern Utah, the Logan Temple was first dedicated on 17–19 May 1884 by President John Taylor. After extensive remodeling the temple was rededicated by President Spencer W. Kimball on 13–15 March 1979. It is shown here as it may have appeared in the 1880s.

Inside back cover: Ascent, by David Linn, oil on linen, 60″ x 40″, 1993. Courtesy of the Museum of Church History and Art. The Lord has taught that one of our responsibilities as members of the Church is to help our fellowmen though this life, “every man seeking the interest of his neighbor, and doing all things with an eye single to the glory of God” (D&C 82:19). As we are lifted, and as we in turn assist others on their mortal journey, we transcend the darkness of the world and enter the light of the gospel.
