My Calling as a Deacons Quorum President

Who Do I Work With?

Quorum Members

Build sincere relationships with the young men in your quorum to help them feel loved and help them come unto Christ. Encourage them to seek the guidance of the Spirit in fulfilling their sacred roles as Aaronic Priesthood holders.

Quorum Presidency and Secretary

You serve in a presidency with two counselors and a secretary. The counselors in your presidency and the quorum secretary will support and sustain you. Give your counselors and secretary opportunities to serve and grow by delegating responsibilities to them. (See General Handbook: Serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 10.4.)

Bishopric

You report to the second counselor in the bishopric. He provides leadership training and support to help in your service.

Ward Youth Council

You are a member of the ward youth council. As a member of the council, you have the responsibilities outlined in the General Handbook, 29.2.6. (See also “Participate in Ward Youth Council Meetings” under “What Should I Focus On?”)

Those who attend the ward youth council include the bishopric, the Young Women president, Aaronic Priesthood quorum assistants and presidents, and Young Women class presidents. If there is only one Young Women class in your ward, the class counselors attend as well.

Aaronic Priesthood Quorum Adviser and Specialist

The Aaronic Priesthood quorum adviser and a specialist serve as resources to you. They will help you fulfill your responsibilities and priesthood duties. As you counsel with them, do not hesitate to make specific assignments to them. These men will provide ongoing support and encouragement. When you are unsure what to do, counsel with them.
