My Calling as a Stake Young Men Secretary

Who Do I Work With?

Stake Young Men Presidency

As a stake Young Men secretary, you work under the direction of the stake Young Men president. You support and sustain him as you accept and prayerfully fulfill responsibilities he may delegate to you. You also seek inspiration so that you can use your unique gifts to bless the ward Aaronic Priesthood leaders in your stake. As you counsel together with the Young Men presidency and seek to follow the example of the Savior, you will gain insights and inspiration about how best to minister to one another and to those you serve. (See General Handbook: Serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5.7.2.)

Ward Aaronic Priesthood Leaders

You assist the stake Young Men presidency in orienting newly called ward Aaronic Priesthood leaders to ensure they have the instruction and resources they need to fulfill their callings. You help the presidency provide ongoing teaching, support, and encouragement for these leaders as they fulfill their Aaronic Priesthood duties.

Counselor in the Stake Presidency over Youth

The stake Young Men presidency meets regularly with the member of the stake presidency over youth. In these meetings the presidency discusses the needs of ward Aaronic Priesthood leaders and the young men and their families. They may also recommend members for the stake presidency to call to serve in the stake Young Men organization. (See General Handbook, 5.7.2.)

Stake Youth Leadership Committee

As a stake Young Men secretary, you serve on the stake youth leadership committee. This committee plans stake activities for young men and young women, such as youth conferences, dances, devotionals, and multistake events. (See General Handbook, 29.3.10.)
