My Desire Stands Strong

Since I was introduced to the Church at age 8, I was taught the importance of the temple and the blessings of being an eternal family. I had the opportunity to be sealed with my family in the Washington D.C. Temple when I was in my teens. Our country did not have a temple and the closest at that time was Washington, D.C. Over the years, all Church members in Puerto Rico traveled to Florida and the Dominican Republic to visit a temple and perform sacred ordinances. Until, in a timely revelation, President Russell M. Nelson announced the blessing of having our temple in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

I had the opportunity to work as part of the communications subcommittee of the temple open house and dedication. It was a unique experience in history, but at the same time filled with the Spirit and miracles. Now I serve as a temple worker, and it has been a great blessing of knowledge, devotion, and service to know I am working for the gathering of Israel on this side of the veil. At the same time, my testimony is strengthened, and I desire to continue helping other families and my ancestors with sacred ordinances for time and eternity.
